Wales and Austria faced off in the play-off semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup European Qualifications. Wales won the match played at Cardiff City Stadium 2-1 and reached the play-off final.
Finishing the first half ahead with Bale’s goal in the 25th minute of the match, Wales once again doubled the gap with Bale’s goal in 51. While Davies sent the ball to his own goal in the 65th minute, no other goals were scored in the remaining minutes and Wales managed to reach the final.
