Bernhard Trares has to take his hat in Mannheim. The defeat on the weekend of the table was too much for the club’s bottom of the table.
Club president Bernd Beetz thanked a message for the 59-year-old’s work. He “invested a lot of time and energy in the club” and “always identified” with the club. Nevertheless, in view of the sporting development and the precarious table situation, they decided on a fresh start. The former Bundesliga club wished Trares “all the best” for his future.
The 59-year-old took over the office in September 2024. Under his leadership, the “Buwe” in 26 league games came nine victories and just as many draws. Eight games were lost – most recently the game against Unterhaching, which was the last to travel to Mannheim.
In the table, SV Waldhof is in 15th after the 30th matchday – with a lead on the relegation zone. For a club that started the season with ambitious goals, that’s not enough. Even before the separation of Trares, the club tour in the sporting management had made changes.
Anyone who will take over the coaching position in the future is still open. “A successor will be decided and informed promptly,” said the club in its message.
