Waiting asylum seekers receive astronomical amounts in penalty payments: ‘Abolish this’ | Domestic

Last year, the IND paid the astronomical amount of 36.8 million euros to migrants who had to wait too long for their residence application. The amount of penalty payments paid is three times as high as in 2023. “Abolish the penalty payment,” the service asks politicians for the umpteenth time.
