VV Alkmaar crashed hard, while Telstar Women is disappointed after a late goal

VV Alkmaar was unable to give the first victory of the season a good result. The football players from Alkmaar visited Fortuna Sittard and were treated to a big loss: 4-0. Telstar Women had a view of a point against PEC Zwolle for a long time. In the final phase, the Blauwvingers still struck: 1-0.

The women of VV Alkmaar had defeated Telstar 1-0 on Sunday and relinquished the last place. Mark de Vries’ team played tonight in Sittard against Fortuna, which has been playing in the women’s premier league since this season. The Limburgers almost took the lead after six minutes, but Charlotte Hulst (who went to Fortuna from VV Alkmaar last summer, ed.) missed.

Moments later, Hulst assisted Jarne Teulings’ opening goal: 1-0. It was Moïsa van Koot, who doubled the lead by extending a free kick. In the counter-punch, the Alkmaarders became dangerous twice. Veerle van der Most’s biggest chance was taken from the intersection. Goals from Tessa Wullaert and Féli Delacauw eventually made it 4-0 for Fortuna.

Due to the defeat, VV Alkmaar remains second to last in the ranking with one point less than Excelsior Rotterdam. The Alkmaar women will play against ADO Den Haag next Friday.

Weiman kills Telstar

For a long time, Telstar Women could hope to leave Zwolle with a point. PEC became dangerous once before the break via Floor Heijne. She shot at Telstar keeper Kelly Steen and in the rebound she hit the post. In the end, the three points remained in Zwolle, because the home team struck mercilessly through Inske Weiman.

Due to the defeat, Telstar remains last with three points less than VV Alkmaar. Fortuna Sittard will be the opponent of the White Lionesses.
