A car on the Burgemeester Slompweg near Nijeveen went up in flames last night. When the fire brigade arrived, nothing could be saved from the vehicle.
The flames struck meters high from the car. The driver was able to bring himself to safety on time. While driving, the driver would have smelled something and put the car aside. Then the engine part came soon. With a high -pressure sprayer, the fire brigade managed to extinguish the fire.
