Driving under the influence plays a role in 1 in 4 fatal accidents and claims 150 lives per year. Federal MP Jeroen Soete (Vooruit) therefore wants the so-called BOB guarantee to be included as standard and free of charge in every car insurance policy.
“Today, drivers often have to pay extra for this. By automatically and free of charge including the BOB guarantee in car insurance, everyone can get home safely with peace of mind. This way we prevent people from getting behind the wheel drunk for fear of extra costs.”
