US ski star Lindsey Vonn is training again just weeks after her horror fall at the Winter Olympics.

Just 25 days after her terrible accident on the descent in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the 41-year-old posted a video on Instagram. “These are definitely tough times, but I’m still grateful… and continue to work hard. The only goal is to get well again. One day at a time,” Vonn captioned the clip.

In the video you can see how the 2010 Olympic champion trains her thighs, shoulders, stomach, back and arms. In between, Vonn’s seriously injured left leg is treated. At the end of the clip she even gets up from the wheelchair.

Complex shin injury

The speed specialist suffered a complex shin injury when she fell on the Cortina descent. After her hospital stay in Italy, Vonn was taken to the airport by ambulance and flown to the USA.

One year until healing

In a few weeks, Vonn wants to move from the wheelchair to crutches. β€œIt will take about a year for all the bones to heal,” she recently explained. She then wants to decide whether the metal parts used should be completely removed. Only then is the final repair of her cruciate ligament planned in another operation.

Vonn tore his cruciate ligament in the World Cup race immediately before the Winter Olympics. Nevertheless, the two-time world champion competed in Italy.
