Vondrousova, the first women’s singles finalist at Wimbledon – Breaking Tennis news



Czech Marketa Vondrousova, who defeated Ukrainian Elina Svitolina 2-0 in Wimbledon, the third grand slam tennis tournament of the season, reached the final.


Participating with a special invitation to the tournament hosted by the capital of England, London, Svitolina faced Vondrousova, number 42 of the world classification, in the semi-finals.


The 24-year-old Czech tennis player, who defeated his opponent 2-0 with 6-3 sets in the match played on the center court, showed the success of reaching the finals for the first time in the tournament.


Vondrousova also played in the 2019 French Open final, but lost 2-0 to Australian Ashleigh Barty.


The Czech athlete will face the winner of the match Aryna Sabalenka (2) – Ounce Jabeur (6) in the final on Saturday.
