Von Bredow-Werndl decides not to come back after having a baby

Double Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl decided not to come back at the dressage tournament in Ludwigsburg. Due to the regulations on maternity leave, the world association FEI refuses her a starting permit, wrote the German association FN.

“From the point of view of the FN, you should not only be allowed to participate, but also reformulate the regulation,” it said in a statement.

The dressage rider from Tuntenhausen in Bavaria wanted to compete in the event in Ludwigsburg, which begins on September 21, six weeks after the birth of her daughter. The 36-year-old rider became a mother for the second time in mid-August.
