The German volleyball players have lost the first of two World Cup tests against Belgium. The team of national coach Michal Winiarski lost 1: 3 (20:25, 20:25, 25:22, 18:25) on Friday evening. Already on Saturday (7:00 p.m.) there is a chance for a quick revenge, then both teams face each other again.
“It was a great atmosphere in the hall, the spectators pushed us very much. Unfortunately, we didn’t work out in the game, it was sometimes a bit careful and hectic,” said player Eric Burggräf: “We trained better than we played. We’ll do it better on Saturday.”
The duels with Belgium are the last hardy tests before the World Cup in the Philippines (12th to 28th September). At the highlight of the season, the selection of the German Volleyball Association (DVV), currently number eight in the world rankings, meets in Group E in Slovenia, Bulgaria and Chile.
