Volleyball, Club World Cup, Perugia beats Swehly Sports Club

Very clear victory for Perugia in Belem (Brazil) on their debut in the Club World Cup: on their debut they beat the Libyans of Swehly Sports Club, a modest team on a technical level, in three sets (25-10. 25-14, 25-18). Absolute domination from start to finish for Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, initially lined up by coach Angelo Lorenzetti with Giannelli as director, Ben Tara as opposite, Losere and Solè in the centre, Plotnytskyi and Semeniuk spikers, with Colaci in the role of libero.

Immediately at the start Perugia took off (7-2), and then extended to 17-6 with the recovered Ben Tara (5 points in the set) the absolute protagonist. Same script in the second half with Lorenzetti himself who also gave space to an overwhelming Dzavoronok (4 points in the half) and to Ishikawa. The two spikers also remained on the court at the beginning of the third set (Plotnytskyi and Semeniuk out), with Argilahgos then taking Giannelli’s place. On the other hand, only Krawash kept his team afloat until the end of the set (25-18) which ended a truly easy practice.

In the other match of the same group in Perugia, the Japanese team Osaka Bluteon beat the Brazilian team Sada Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte 3-0. The two teams that won their debut will clash tomorrow on the second day (5.30 pm Italian time), in what will be a sort of play-off for first place in the group.
