The Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG) is pleased with the idea behind the Integrated Care Agreement (IZA) that residents would benefit from a stronger commitment to the prevention of ill health.

The association also praises the possibility in the agreement to work across domains in healthcare. According to VNG, a regionally coordinated approach to care and prevention is important. “In this way we take responsibility for the social task of working together towards a more vital society and future-proof care. We see many of our points clearly reflected in the IZA.” The VNG writes this in a response to the signing of the Healthcare Agreement by organizations in the healthcare sector with Minister of Health Ernst Kuipers.

The signing of the Integral Care Agreement by the VNG is still subject to approval by the general meeting of members on 2 December.
