Vivienne van den Assem thinks RTL Boulevard has become very stylish

Vivienne van den Assem does not recognize herself in the criticism that RTL Boulevard has become sleepily boring over the years. She does state that the program has become much more stylish.

RTL Boulevard is regularly criticized that there is almost never anything high-profile in the program. In the week that both Lil Kleine and Glennis Grace derailed, the program was suddenly huge juicy – even Yvonne Coldeweijer stood there for a moment at the desk – but in general it all just flows.

Too nice

Wilfred Genee asks Vivienne van den Assem, one of the presenters of RTL Boulevard, in his BNR show The Friday Move: “In recent years there has been the accusation that Shownieuws and Boulevard have become too good. How do you see that?”

Vivienne: “Is that reproach done?”

Wilfred: “Yes, that’s why you have all those juice channels now, don’t you?”

Vivienne: “Yes, I think those accusations come from those juice channels.”

‘I do not think so’

Wilfred: “Yes, but also by people who like that and say: ‘Yes, that other thing has become much too good.’ How do you look at that?

Vivienne: “Well, I don’t really think so. I think it’s a really nice program. I don’t think it’s that nice at all. I think it might be different than it was years ago, but back then the criticism was like, ohh, it’s way too much gossip and they’re all bringing out filthy sleaze and dirt from people. Yes, that might be Andes now.”

Stylish

Wilfred: “It has become stylish, you say? That is it?”

Vivienne: “Yes, maybe yes. I like that personally.”

Can gossip about celebrities ever be stylish? “People come and talk about people. I like that.”
