Vivianne Miedema has tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, the Orange attacker will miss Wednesday’s match against Portugal.
“The challenge has become even greater,” said national coach Mark Parsons at the press conference. “Viev is fine, although she does have symptoms. She is now also in isolation. This is a big blow for us, but we have to move on. We look at the challenge ahead. I am also happy that the team has expanded in the past period.”
After Jackie Groenen, Miedema is the second player to have tested positive for an already injured team. “Since Jackie’s positive test, we have tightened the measures,” said Parsons.
