Koski fell victim to an investment scam between 2015 and 2024 and lost all his savings as a result. Koski had 100,000 euros in his account. When the money ran out, Koski had also resorted to quick tips.

Koski tells Viva that he approaches the concern report with humor these days. At that time, however, he felt guilt and shame.

Koski blamed himself for what happened and lost his joy in things he had enjoyed before.
– I scolded myself for how could I be so damn stupid, Koski says to Viva.
Koski lost his own money in the scam, but the money shared by the wife and the couple was safe. Koski will pay off the quick tips for years to come with a loan from the bank.

Koski told about the online scam for the first time in his book published last fall. Koski said that he received an email in which he was offered the opportunity to invest in foreign binary options, for example gold and silver.
– I did work as ordered and let money go. The idea of a quick tripling of the amount transferred was attractive, and from the tables sent to me I could see how well the company had done in its field – all the curves were pointing upwards. Damn I’m wise, I thought, Koski wrote in his book.
When Koski wondered where the profit would stay, he was assured that trading in the stock market is always uncertain.
Later, Koski received a message that he had fallen victim to a scam and was offered the services of a lawyer. Money also sunk into the lawyer. When a Finnish bank was contacted about a suspected fraud, Koski acted according to the lawyer’s instructions and lied to the bank that it was not a fraud.
When the matter was revealed to the family, both the wife and the son immediately realized that it was a scam. Even then, Koski couldn’t immediately believe the real side of things.
The police told Koske that anyone can fall victim to a similar scam. Lost money is unlikely to be recovered.
– After all, the scam had been going on for years. I had made the money transfers myself, voluntarily. The matter would be investigated, but it would take time. The competence of the Finnish police is very limited outside Finland’s borders, Koski said in his book.
