It went wrong after almost half an hour, when fireworks were thrown from the branch. Van Wijk: “It seems to be a retaliatory action, but it is simply incomprehensible and absolutely unacceptable that part of the profession has crossed the line so much, by throwing fireworks at the field and the nearby sector.”
Earlier this season, similar disturbances took place at Vitesse against FC Utrecht in Arnhem. At the time, the management of Utrecht called the behavior of its own supporters a disgrace.
