And so the tens of thousands of visitors have to do something different this weekend. They came from all over the Netherlands, but also from Germany, Spain, France and the United Kingdom.
“I’m personally angry,” says a German festival goer, “because I was looking forward to seeing all the DJs here. But Amsterdam is a nice city, so we should look for something else.”
Hundreds of euros
“I paid around 100 euros for this,” says a Dutchman we spoke to. “Would be a shame, but you don’t do anything about it.”
Other festival goers paid much more: “My friends came over from France,” says a Frenchman we spoke to. “They also paid for a plane ticket and a hostel, so they now lost 400 to 500 euros.”
