‘We are not yet at the last chapter of the book’
Amsterdam – With the Sars-Cov-2 virus there is still the chance that a variant will develop that is more contagious than, for example, omicron and more pathogenic than the delta variant. “Virologists take such a ‘worrying variant’ into account, but due to the vaccination rate and infections experienced, it will be dealt with differently and less radically,” predicts Belgian virologist Marc Van Ranst.
