Viola Holt NEVER wants to say anything about Patty Brard again: ‘That’s fine’

Viola Holt refuses to ever say anything about Patty Brard in the media again. The two absolutely do not like each other and that is why she does not want to participate in articles about the TV diva. “It’s quite true.”

This week, Patty Brard is the subject of the regular celebrity column in the New Revu. Colleagues can give their opinion about a different star every week and this time it is the Shownieuws diva’s turn. Viola Holt also receives a call, but she is not looking forward to it at all. She doesn’t want to say anything about Patty.

One bang fake

Viola reacts quite testily. “Given my previous experiences with Patty Brard, I will not comment on this. I consciously said goodbye to television. I’m 74 and I think it’s fine that way. But: every man for himself. I’ll leave it at that, that’s all,” says the former 5 O’Clock Show star in the magazine.

What are Viola’s previous experiences? Well, Patty spoke very meanly about her in 2008: “Viola is not sincere and one bit fake. I saw her talking about how spiritual she is. Did you think we were gardening there? I would say to Viola: you are too fat and you have no job. I did it too, why shouldn’t you?

Unsympathetic

Viola already thought that was very unsympathetic of Patty. She said at the time: “Patty Brard called me ‘one hell of a fake’ and ‘fat’ in an interview. Frits (Löhnen, her mental coach) taught me: ‘If you say something about someone else, you actually say more about yourself.’ Then I thought, ‘Indeed, she’s talking about herself and she doesn’t even realize it.’ Nice right?”

All in all, it’s quite a mess between 74-year-old Viola and 68-year-old Patty. And that means that Viola never wants to speak out about Patty in the media again.

What does Catherine think?

Catherine Keyl, who is at odds with Viola again, does want to respond. She advocates keeping Patty on television. “I find it difficult when people only want to listen to young people. I think that older people can contribute because they have more life experience. That can bring completely different insights.”

She concludes: “I really like the mix of young and old. Patty always comes up with surprises. Never a dull moment with Patty, haha. As a viewer you never know what Patty is going to say. And neither do they, I sometimes think.”
