Vinyl sales 2024: Swift at 1 and Pink Floyd at 10

The multi-platinum award-winning THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT sold like hotcakes.

Because of her number one album, the sold-out stadium tour worldwide and constant media presence, 2024 was probably the most successful year of her career for Taylor Swift. The singer can now record another success in Germany: THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT is the most frequently purchased record here.

In the top 20 vinyl charts determined by GfK Entertainment, Swift is ahead of bands like Linkin Park (FROM ZERO) and Coldplay (MOON MUSIC) or solo artists like Billie Eilish (HIT ME HARD AND SOFT). In addition to the record, which was nominated for six Grammys, another work by the 34-year-old made it into the top 10, her re-released fifth studio album in 1989.

In addition to Swift and the Toten Hosen (LIVE IN ARGENTINA, UNDER A FLAT FLAG), David Gilmour is also featured twice in the top 20. Not only with his current studio album LUCK AND STRANGE, but also the Pink Floyd classic THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON from 1973. And that at a proud number 10.
