Open vineyard parties in Heuvelland

Jean-Pierre Six, the godfather of the Heuvelland viticulture who planted the very first vine on the southern slopes of the Monteberg 27 years ago, started with 600 vines. He didn’t immediately have the idea to start commercially. But soon another hectare was planted, and now they are already over 10 hectares of vineyards at the Monteberg winery. And others followed.

Simple principle

For the Open Wijngaardfeesten, the principle is simple: you buy a tasting glass (6 euros) and you go from wine estate to wine estate to taste. For each additional tasting you pay 1.50 euros. With these Open Vineyard Festivals, the wine estates want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to taste their wines. You can go from 10:30 am on Saturday and Sunday. until 6 p.m. walk freely at the participating domains.
