Vincenzo Nibali, the rally and that “gauntlet” to Contador

At the Monza Rally Show 2024 (6-8 December) there is a special enthusiast. This is Vincenzo Nibali who is at the wheel of a GR Yaris R1 T4X4 of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Italy team. “It’s an emotion like when you do a full uphill climb and then go downhill” explains the winner of two Giri d’Italia, a Tour de France and a Vuelta. In the car with him the young and expert co-driver Alessandro Franco. When asked which of his cycling rivals on peaks across Europe he would like to challenge with a rally car, Vincenzo, smiling, says just one name: Alberto Contador.
