After Bayern’s victory against Werder, the coaches of both teams answered the questions of journalists. A misunderstanding ensured laughter in the press hall.
What a curious scene on Friday evening in the Allianz Arena: After the clear 3-0 victory of FC Bayern against Werder Bremen on Friday evening there was an amusing misunderstanding during the press conference. As a guest coach Ole Werner was asked about his unusual working day, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany suddenly spoke. A moment that provided plenty of laughter.
Company quickly noticed his oversight and said with a laugh: “Oh, sorry.” In the meantime, Werner, who was sitting next to him, showed his finger and said with a smile to Kompany: “For me.”
For Werner it was not a normal matchday. After his red card in the home win against Mainz, the 36-year-old was not allowed to support his team as usual in the cabin and on the edge of the field. “There are more beautiful working days,” he said after the game. “You want to be with the team in such a difficult game.”
Despite the defeat, the Bremen coach was grateful for the performance of his eleven and especially for the work of his coaching staff. The team around assistant Patrick Kohlmann did “a good job”. The interior ban was not decisive, said Werner. He spoke of a deserved defeat against the league leader, even if the result hurt in height.
In a week at home game against Hoffenheim, Werner will be on the sidelines again.
