Vincent Janssen surprising name in pre-selection Orange

Vincent Janssen is included in the pre-selection of the Dutch national team. The 27-year-old striker played his last international match in October 2017. National coach Louis van Gaal has included the Ossenaar in the provisional selection that will play matches in the Nations League next month.

The call from the Mexican Monterrey striker is surprising. This season, Janssen has scored three goals in twenty-eight games. It will be announced later whether the Ossenaar will receive a final call-up for the matches against Belgium, Poland and Wales (twice).

The Mexican newspaper marca was not very enthusiastic about Janssen’s performance recently. The newspaper wrote: “Vincent Janssen tiene la peor racha de un delantero de Rayados ¡Más de mil minutos sin gol!” Loosely translated, it says that he is on a bad streak with more than 1000 minutes without a goal.

Other people from Brabant
Furthermore, four people from Brabant are included in the pre-selection. Virgil van Dijk from Breda, Ossenaar Arnaut Danjuma. Eindhoven players Cody Gakpo and Jordan Teze are also in the provisional selection. PSV player Joël Drommel, who has recently become a reserve keeper for the Eindhoven team, is not in the selection this time.
