Vilma Nissinen wanted to give evidence, but the disease got in the way. There were also events in the ski exchange.

Vilma Nissinen The 10+10 kilometer race ended with an interruption on Sunday.

After the first free round, Nissinen, who stepped off the track, said that he got sick before the race.

– I had a fever of 38 degrees last night. I didn’t really eat in the evening. It was stomach time on Saturday too… I think I’ve had a stomach bug.

Nissinen felt better on the morning of the competition than at night. He decided to go and try.

– I really wouldn’t have gone if it had been a training day or a smaller competition. I knew this was an important inspection race. I wanted to try. There was absolutely nothing to give from these starting points.

On Sunday, it was possible to provide screens for the next three World Cup races.

Nissinen was in the lead at the beginning of the mittelö, but at 12.5 kilometers the gap had already become more than 40 seconds.

– Pulled quite loose with the traditional one. It had nothing to do with normal skiing. If you had gone skiing last weekend, everything would have been fine.

Nissinen has skied in the Ruka and Lillehammer World Cups this season. He regretted on Saturday that there is no certainty about the future mc races.

– It’s challenging when you have to give demonstrations all the time. You can’t make peace, he said on Saturday.

Silva Kemppi turned back when changing skis. Jussi Saarinen

She also experienced bad luck in the women’s race Silva Kemppi. The change of skis in the first combined race of my career did not go well.

– I thought I had changed both skis. The other leg still had a traditional ski. I only noticed when I set off. Had to go back, Kemppi said.

There are very few combined competitions in the program. Even in the World Cup season, only a few of them can fit. Changing skis, which is stressful for skiers, is rarely practiced in a competition situation.

– There was learning.
