We worked hard all winter to set up the library. A call has been made in the local newspaper for help. Marja Kossen, one of the initiators of the village library, is pleasantly surprised: “Many fellow villagers have donated books. We have had to assemble more and more bookcases.”

“Why now? There is nothing at all in Oudesluis now and how do we get people together again to have a chat,” says Marja Kossen. “We no longer see each other, because there is no supermarket. People become lonely and I think that is a shame.”
