The technical wholesaler Vihamij has collapsed and has immediately closed all 30 branches in the Netherlands, including those in Drenthe. In that case, this concerns the branches in Emmen and Hoogeveen. A total of 110 people work at the group, which has its head office in Arnhem.

It is not yet known whether it will enable a company to restart. The office of curator Coen Houtman is closed due to the holidays.

The court in Zutphen declared bankruptcy on December 23, after the management of the Arnhem group itself had submitted the application. The wholesaler, which has existed since 1955, provides products and advice to installers and the construction industry.

The curator decided to close immediately because suppliers reclaimed goods or demanded immediate payment. Remaining open further would have meant that products were sold that legally did not even belong to Vihamij itself, reports De Gelderlander.

Whether a restart is possible will become clear in the coming weeks, the newspaper said. The curator is investigating whether parts of Vihamij are viable for a restart (including stocks and business locations) or will be auctioned.
