‘Beau’ about loneliness
Young people Roos and Max sat down to talk about their experience with loneliness. For example, Roos let us know that she has been struggling with it for ten years, the loneliness started when she was twelve.

“When I was twelve I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. That turned my life completely upside down. The following years I was busy being able to function at all. Day in, day out to the hospital. I missed that period in which you are going to develop and puberty,” says Roos. Where the corona period was a lonely time for many young people, it was no different for her. She was lonely before that.
Corona time made lonely
With Max, his loneliness has become worse during the corona period. He lay in bed for days, occasionally attended an online lecture, but also often did nothing. Because of his shyness, he finds it difficult to make contact with other young people.
‘I don’t want that life anymore’
Typhoon wrote the song Only in the break, about loneliness among young people. Max lets you know that he recognizes himself in the lyrics from the song. “I don’t want to live anymore, but I do want to live. Just not that life anymore,” he says. That cuts into Beau: “I think it’s very sad when you say it like that. ‘I want to live, but not that life.’”
