With an average of 81,365 visitors, Borussia Dortmund was once again the biggest fan magnet in Europe last year. Nevertheless, BVB only just made it into the 25 clubs with the highest audience revenue. This comes from the report published annually by UEFA “The European Club Finance and Investment LandscapeThe Black and Yellows have now fallen behind Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga rankings.
The report includes match day income, among other things, season and day tickets, catering or so-called hospitality offers. The fact that the Dortmunders don’t appear any further ahead is due to their low prices. On average, a stadium visitor paid BVB 28 euros for a game, only 87th in an international comparison. A stark counter-example: PSG attracted an average of 47,702 people to the Parc des Princes in 2025, but was by far in first place in terms of average price due to numerous premium offers at 139 euros per fan. The French received 6.7 million euros per home game (second place), while BVB only received 2.3 million euros (23rd place).
Another factor is the number of games. For example, there are more duels in the 20-team Premier League, Serie A and LaLiga. But the Scottish champions Celtic Glasgow (2.2 million euros per home game) also moved three places ahead of Borussia in 21st place thanks to more league games, two cups and the European Cup. Dortmund were able to increase their audience revenue by at least five percent to 55 million euros. Nevertheless, in an international comparison, BVB has fallen two places and is also overtaken by Frankfurt. Eintracht increased its income by 15 percent to 58 million euros.
Nine clubs recorded income of more than 100 million euros in 2025, and eighteen clubs in the top 25 reported record amounts. Real Madrid was the first club to break the 200 million mark. At the top, the Royals increased by 20 percent to 222 million euros. Arsenal FC recorded an equally large increase, passing Paris Saint-Germain with 183 million euros. The Champions League winner increased its audience revenue by four percent to 175 million euros. There was record growth of 16 percent across the league, which was primarily due to the increase in premium tickets and hospitality offers, UEFA said.
FC Bayern is the only Bundesliga team in the top 10 in terms of audience revenue
FC Bayern is the only Bundesliga club in the top 10. The Munich team increased by twelve percent to 147 million euros, but the German record champions still fell three places to seventh place. Bayern earned 3.6 million euros more per home game than BVB. From a German perspective, VfB Stuttgart (3.4 million euros) and SGE (2.4 million euros) follow. The Swabians, who also played three more home games compared to 2024, are in 17th place in the ranking with 68 million euros, a full 13 million euros ahead of Dortmund, primarily due to the twice as high average price (58 euros).
The SGE is also clearly ahead of the BVB when it comes to the admission price of 42 euros. In terms of revenue per home game, the Black and Yellows in the European top 50 are followed by RB Leipzig (1.7 million euros), Werder Bremen (1.6 million euros), 1. FC Köln (1.5 million euros), Borussia Mönchengladbach and SC Freiburg (1.2 million euros each) and Mainz 05 (1.1 million euros). Only the foals are cheaper than the Dortmund ones in terms of average price at 24 euros. Real Madrid also collected the most money per home game: at 7.9 million euros, a whopping 1.2 million euros more than second-placed PSG.
The biggest jumps in the top 25 in terms of audience revenue are made by Aston Villa (eleven places) and Fenerbahce (nine places). At 60 percent, the Istanbul team had the biggest increase, with the Birmingham club just behind at 58 percent. At Fenerbahce – also due to high inflation – ticket prices have gone through the roof, from 40 to 71 euros on average. At Aston Villa, which is also causing a sensation in the Premier League and the Europa League after participating in the premier class for the first time, which only ended in the quarter-finals, the average price climbed from 41 to 60 euros. This also applies to other English heavyweights such as Chelsea (+24 to 96 euros) and Liverpool (+18 to 85 euros).
