Like every year, the commemoration of the Grande Torino champions, who died on 4 May 1949 in a plane crash while returning from a friendly match in Portugal, took place in Superga. Grenade captain Duvan Zapata was entrusted with the task of reading the names of the victims engraved on the plaque in the Basilica.
