VIDEO: When Alberto Fernández recognized that inflation was due to issuance

President Alberto Fernandez He recently stated that the country’s inflationary growth is being pushed by ordinary people. However, in 2013, the president had a different opinion: he pointed to the monetary issue as the main cause of the increase in inflation.

Hours before the CELAC summit, Fernandez gave an interview to the Brazilian media “Folha de Sao Paulo” in which he stated that “a large part of inflation is self-constructed, is in the head of the people; people see in the newspaper that the fuel is going to go up and then it starts to increase just in case”.

But when inflation skyrocketed during the tenure of the now vice president Cristina KirchnerFernández gave an interview to the TN channel where he not only blamed the monetary issue carried out by the government, but also questioned the then Secretary of Internal Commerce, William Moreno, for applying price controls to contain the problem.

“The president perceives that throwing away the amount of money that she has put yesterday in the market in favor of social plans, there will be an increase in demand, a contraction of supply and an increase in prices. And how she solves it: sending the boys from The Campora to control businesses. But president, tell Moreno to stop arranging with the supermarkets,” questioned the now president.

Immediately afterwards, he questioned the then head of the Central Bank Mercedes Mark Del Pont by issuance policy. “(Cristina) does not take into account that the amount of money that she has issued and that has not had support and that has been a cause of enormous inflation,” said Fernández.
