The musician Mariano Vega, known on social media as @el_morian, once again combined politics and music in one of his most talked-about creations. With more than 70 thousand followers on Instagram, he published a video in which he adds chords, bass and drums to the recent statements of Donald Trump, who justified the economic aid from the United States to the government of Javier Milei by ensuring that “Argentina is fighting for its life… they are dying.”
The original fragment belongs to an interview where Trump responded to criticism for allocating funds to the country. “Argentina is fighting for its life, miss. You know nothing about it. They have no money, they are fighting with all their might to survive. They’re dying, okay? They are dying“said the former president, in a tone between dramatic and paternalistic, to defend the stabilization plan that he is promoting together with the IMF. According to him, it is not a rescue but a “bridge to a better future.”
In the clip, Vega takes the fragment of an interview in which Trump defended his decision to financially support the government of Javier Milei, arguing that “the country needs stability and economic freedom to avoid becoming another failed state in Latin America.” On those words, the musician added guitar, drums and bass chords, turning the scene into an ironic and catchy rock song.
It is not the first time that the artist turns speeches into songs. He already did it with Milei’s outbursts, whom he turned into the involuntary protagonist of riffs and choruses, and with José Luis Espert’s crying on television during the drug trafficking accusations. His style, between political humor and musical parody, reflects how networks transformed public discourse into content to parody and viralize.
