VIDEO: The day that Cesar Mascetti and Mónica Cahen D’Anvers said goodbye to Telenoche

The name of Cesar Mascetti cannot be separated from “Telenight”the historic newscast of El Trece, which he hosted for a decade with his partner and partner Monica Cahen D’Anvers. In 2003, Telenoche came to an end, and its hosts dedicated some heartfelt words to the camera as a farewell, and in Mascetti’s, young journalists played a central role.

“When we see the youngest continue this trade with honesty and freedom; when we recognize each other through a question; when we identify ourselves with just a look, there we are sure that our time on “Telenoche” left traces, and that makes us very happy. we are committed to building a better country and we continue to believe, as we did when choosing this profession, that independent journalism should serve not only to inform, but also to transform”, said the presenter.

On June 7, 2004, a year after saying goodbye to the historic program, Mascetti and Cahen D’Anvers were married in an intimate and discreet ceremony, thus crowning a romance of almost 25 years.

Although Telenoche had ended, there were two detachments from the cycle: “Telenoche investigates”a section of the news that became a separate program, and “Special nightly”, a journalistic cycle that continued to have Mascetti and Cahen Danvers as hosts. After thirteen years of sharing the newscast together, they continued their duo on the program “Monica and Cesar” on Radio del Plata until 2015, the year in which they definitively left the media to settle in their farm in San Pedro, called La Campiña.

Mascetti had begun the first steps in his career as a journalist in the newspaper El Independiente, founded by his grandfather. Until in 1971, while he was a chronicler for the newspaper “La Razón”, he found out that Telenoche was looking for a chronicler. He was chosen for the position, and on July 1 of that year, he interviewed renowned French artist Marcel Marceau for the news.

During the summer of 1992 where Monica and Cesar became the host couple of the program. From then on, they experienced many great milestones together, such as the interview that Mascetti did with the former president Raul Alfonsin on the occasion of the Olivos Pact, in 1993. Or in 1994 when they broadcast the program from the United States on the occasion of the World Cup.
