A video of the fatal incident that occurred on New Year’s Eve at the Kushchevsky traffic police post in the Krasnodar Territory has been released.
Law enforcement officers fired fireworks to the chimes. The shell suddenly flew towards the security officer and hit him in the head.
The 35-year-old police officer was hospitalized with an open head injury. He later died in hospital.
The acquaintances of the deceased in social networks reported that the operation lasted more than seven hours. The captain has worked in the traffic police since 2003.
