The vehicle that went viral on social networks Fernando Burlando and Barby Franco They used them to attend the Martín Fierro gala that took place at the Hilton Hotel in Puerto Madero. A TikToker recorded the lawyer and his girlfriend riding in a Tesla car leaving the headquarters where the prestigious awards were presented to the national media.
In the sequence, Franco greets the surprised passerby who recorded the car, designed and built by the corporation led by Elon Musk, which was moving away from the APTRA event, dedicated to awarding television and radio figures. A fragment filmed last Tuesday and that was replicated by numerous accounts on platforms such as X and TikTok.
The appearances of Tesla Cybertruck cars have gone viral in the country in recent days. Last week, a vehicle of the same brand was parked in the garage of the Chamber of Deputies and unleashed a media scandal within the libertarian ruling party. The futuristic electric truck was seen parked in the legislative annex and quickly spread on social networks due to its striking aesthetics and, above all, its million-dollar value.
The owner of the vehicle turned out to be the national deputy Manuel Quintar of La Libertad Avanza, 44 years old, who assumed office on December 10, 2023 and whose term extends until 2027. The Jujuy legislator presents himself publicly as a lawyer, businessman, merchant and athlete. Various journalistic sources indicated that he maintains a strong activity linked to the private health sector in his province, where he manages clinics, sanatoriums and social works linked to the historic Sanatorio Los Lapachos, a family business with a regional presence for decades.
The Cybertruck is not a vehicle at all common or accessible in the Argentine market. In the United States, the base model starts at around $70,000, but in Argentina, due to import costs, tariffs, VAT, internal taxes and logistical expenses, different journalistic estimates place its price between $200,000 and $300,000. Some media spoke of a valuation of more than $100,000, while others calculated figures close to $250,000 or even $300,000 depending on the imported version.
Without a doubt, the image of the Tesla does not go unnoticed by the Argentine public. Milei himself, in a streaming report on the cycle hosted by Gordo Dan, recalled the moment he got into a Tesla and acknowledged: “I tried one and I loved it, I asked Musk if he would give me one to get around in Argentina, he didn’t give me any thought.” On social networks, Quintar was quickly baptized as “DipuTesla”, while thousands of users questioned the contrast between the anti-caste discourse and the display of luxury goods in Congress.
