The AZ fans who watched the competition on the Alkmaarse Paardenmarkt went home with abdominal pain. The group supporters held in when the game had to be decided with penalties.
The expectations were high and the tension was fiercely. Beer flowed richly on the square and the emotions went in all directions.
After the extension, in which the score remained 1-1, the match went into penalties, but after misses from neighbor and Lahdo it was over for the Alkmaarders. The disappointment with the public was great: a part threw with plastic cups, others left directly from the square.
