Zinchenko was specially appointed captain for the game in place of Fernandinho. Before kick-off, he joined the referee team and the Peterborough captain in raising a Ukraine flag. The German national player Ilkay Gündogan was also in the starting line-up.
Crystal Palace narrowly beat Stoke City
Crystal Palace is also a round ahead. The Premier League club beat Stoke City 2-1 in front of their home crowd in the round of 16. Late on Tuesday evening, Middlesborough FC also qualified for the quarter-finals. The second division defeated favorite Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 after extra time with a goal from 19-year-old Josh Coburn (107th).
The quarterfinals will be played in mid-March.
