Alexander Zverev is getting closer to his dream of winning a Grand Slam tournament. In the quarterfinals of the Australian Open he defeated the American Tommy Paul.
The second in the tennis world rankings won the match on Tuesday (January 21, 2025) after more than three hours of play with 3-1 sets.
Zverev, who has never triumphed at a Grand Slam tournament, retained the upper hand in the tiebreaks in the first two sets. He lost the third 2:6, and in the fourth he managed a smooth 6:1.
Now against Djokovic or Alcaraz
In the semifinals, Alexander Zverev will meet the winner of the game Novak Djokovic against Carlos Alcaraz.
