The Kazache Alexander Budik won the ATP tournament in Halle for the second time.
In the final, the 27-year-old defeated the Russian Daniil Medvedev 6: 3, 7: 6 (6: 4) on Sunday and celebrated his second triumph in East Westphalia after 2023 and his fifth title on the ATP tour.
“This is a special place for me,” said Bucks, who dedicated the title to his son and wife and was given the trophy by Boris Becker.
Bukik already defeated Sinner
In the semi -finals Alexander Zverev, Medvedev conquered in three competitive sets with 7: 6, 6: 7 and 6: 4. Bukik had moved into the final with a 4: 6, 7: 6, 6: 4 against Karen Chatschafhanow. In the first round, he had already thrown the world ranking of Jannik Sinner out of the tournament.
The direct comparison spoke for Medvedev, which was able to win all previous six games against the Budik and lost only one sentence. The final in Halle was the first encounter on lawn.
Budik shakes only at the beginning with its own surcharge
The first game of the game was highly competitive. Bukik fought off a break ball with a remarkable stop ball from the baseline and then won the game with two strong serves. Medvedev, in turn, won his first service game to zero.
The Bukik then also found his impact and also won his second game without gaining any opposing point. In this way, it continued until the Bukik won three break balls with an opposing surcharge and used the first to take the 5: 3 lead. Medvedev only with two break balls

Budik picks up 1: 4 deficit in Tiebreak
With another clearly won service from Bucks, the tiebreak went. Medvedev quickly led 4: 1, but after four lost points in a row, but shortly afterwards with 4: 5 behind. With two point gains on his own serve, Buckskin won the game after 1:21 hours. After the transformed match ball sank on the lawn and was visibly emotional.
