Victor Vlam finds it scandalous and baffling that Gordon complains about the fatigue that comes with presenting a morning show. “A very big mentality problem.”
It seems that Gordon already knows that his morning show on Radio 10 will not get a second season from Talpa, because he publicly says that getting up early really bothers him. And of course you say that never never if there is a chance that you will return with that program after the summer, because now every listener knows that he does so reluctantly.
Big whining
TV critic Victor Vlam thinks it is obvious what will happen. “That morning show is just going to stop, that’s clear, because otherwise he wouldn’t be hinting at this,” he says at the bar of The Orange Summer.
Gordon’s complaining bothers him. “I think this is all such a terrible hassle in the end, because he reportedly gets half a million to present that program there and then he sits there whining about the fact: yes, it is so difficult and I have to get up so early and it is killing me. Then I think: you get half a million!”
Half a million
Gordon has no right to complain with such a salary, Victor believes. “If you give me half a million to get up at four o’clock, I will stand there every day with a smile. That would be a good mentality. I think this is a lack of mentality from here to Tokyo. I think it is scandalous.”
He concludes: “I would understand that too [dat het zwaar is]I just don’t think it’s appropriate to complain about it. There are people who are road workers and they have to get up terribly early and they don’t get paid nearly as much. I can’t stand celebrities who are paid well and yet complain a lot.”
