Victims of violent crimes must gain insight into financial aid more quickly: now an average waiting time of 28 months

Dutch-speaking victims of intentional acts of violence must be able to receive financial aid more quickly from the Victims’ Fund. The Council of Ministers therefore approved a bill on Friday from Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open Vld). Today, those victims have to wait an average of 28 months before their file is processed. An accelerated written procedure should help.
