The victim of the stabbing in Vlijmen is back from the hospital. The 38-year-old man who wants to remain anonymous, looks tired and battered after he was attacked on Friday evening by a friend of him. “I hired him once and there is disagreement about that, it is a few hundred euros,” he says about it.

The resident of the house on the Rembrandtstraat in Vlijmen tells what happened on Friday evening. “He came to the gate in front of my house and we got words about that business conflict.” The victim himself handed out a blow. “And then the suspect suddenly took out with a knife.”

The resident had no idea that the man he had a fight had a knife with him, let alone that he wanted to use it. “If I had known that, I would have closed the gate and I would have gone inside quickly.” Things went differently, because the Vlijmenaar was hit in his hand and on the back of his head.

Operation
His arm is in a sling and his hand and a finger are thick in the bandage. “A tendon has been hit, so I have to be operated on Monday.” There is a large white plaster on the back of his head. “It is a big cut, but luckily it is, because it could have ended differently and then I would not have been here anymore,” he says.

The man realizes all too well that it could have ended very differently. “Fortunately I am back home now and can retell it. And all about a business conflict of a few hundred euros,” he sighs.

Victim Support
What is also bothering him is that although his son has not seen the fight and the stabbing, it does have the aftermath of it. “He saw his father wounded in, that has been very intense for him.” The boy would get victim support. The man now mainly wants peace and hopes to recover soon from what he himself calls an attempted manslaughter.

The police report on Saturday that a 28-year-old suspect was arrested without a permanent place of residence or residence. Research must show the circumstances of the stabbing.
