Hannah Meul, Vice European Champion in bouldering, won the German championship title in lead climbing in Neu-Ulm.

Hannah Meul from DAV Rheinland-Köln is German champion in lead climbing for the second time after 2017. At the competitions in Neu-Ulm, she dethroned the Bavarian defending champion Martina Demmel (DAV Allgäu-Kempten). Third was Lucia Dörffel (DAV Chemnitz).

Surprise for the men – top favorite Flohé slips up

Among the men, there was a surprise winner in the lead, 16-year-old Yannick Nagel from DAV Mannheim. Yannick Flohé, Germany’s top climber in this discipline, failed in the final and only finished fifth. Linus Raatz (Alpinclub Berlin) and Jan Hojer (DAV Frankfurt) finished second and third behind Nagel.

Speed ​​climbing title goes to Munich

The German champions in speed climbing had already been determined the day before in Neu-Ulm. Anna Maria Apel from Munich won the women’s categorydefending champion Linus Bader (Düsseldorf) prevailed among the men.
