Coach Thomas Letsch from the Bundesliga club VfL Bochum would like to maintain his 100 percent win rate in the Ruhr Stadium against the ailing TSG Hoffenheim (3:30 p.m. / Sky), but does not see the home game on Saturday as a sure-fire success.
“VfL Bochum won’t be favorites in this game,” said the 54-year-old, “but we’ll go into the game with confidence and humility.”
Since taking office in September, the Letsch team has won four games in front of their home crowd. The Kraichgauer have been waiting for a threesome for eight league games. Nevertheless, VfL “must not make the mistake of saying that they haven’t won in a while,” Letsch clarified. Hoffenheim coach Andre Breitenreiter’s team has “quality” and is a “tough nut”.
“We have to be just as focused as we were in the last home games,” said Letsch. The Ruhrstadion myth could help – once again: “When the first good action comes, whether it’s a duel, attack or tackle, then the whole stadium stands – that’s fascinating.”
