At VfB Stuttgart, Mittelstädt is the second new signing after striker Jovan Milosevic (17). “Maximilian Mittelstädt already has Bundesliga experience and, combined with his footballing skills, is a very good addition to our squad. We are delighted that he has decided to join VfB despite having other transfer options, and we warmly welcome Maxi to Stuttgart,” explained sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

Mittelstädt added: “I’m happy that the move to VfB worked out. VfB is a great club with a lot of tradition and an attractive style of play. I want to do my part to help us achieve our sporting goals and I’m already looking forward to getting to know my new teammates at the start of training. I would like to thank all of the players, coaches and employees at Hertha BSC who have accompanied me on my way from youth player to professional status and I wish Hertha BSC a positive future in every respect.”
