VfB Stuttgart makes decision at Borna Sosa

For a long time, Borna Sosa was considered a candidate for departure at VfB Stuttgart. But according to a media report, the full-back will remain with the Bundesliga club, which is threatened with relegation, at least until the end of the season.

According to “Bild”, VfB Stuttgart will not let Croatian World Cup driver Borna Sosa go in the transfer period that ends on Tuesday. So the 25-year-old will most likely finish the season with the Swabians.

Bayer Leverkusen is said to have dared to try Sosa in the past few hours. As “Bild” reports, the two Bundesliga clubs could not agree on a transfer fee.

VfB Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen at odds over fee

While VfB Stuttgart is said to have demanded at least 15 million euros, the Rhinelanders allegedly only wanted to pay around ten million euros.

In the past few months, there have been repeated rumors about a possible Sosa farewell to VfB Stuttgart.

“I’ve been here for five years now and I feel at home, but when something good comes along, you might want to take another step. That’s normal too,” said the left-back, who has a contract until 2025 Speculations said and a whereabouts in Stuttgart left open.

Borna Sosa at VfB Stuttgart with strong development

Sosa switched from the top Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb to the Swabians in 2018 for around six million euros. At VfB Stuttgart, the strong attacking defender has matured into a national team player.

The 25-year-old was one of Croatia’s regulars at the World Cup in Qatar, but returned to Stuttgart with adductor problems. Sosa has not yet been able to play a competitive game this calendar year.

Despite this, Bayer Leverkusen reportedly tried hard to get a commitment. The recruiting of the Rhinelanders is said to have ultimately been unsuccessful.
