VfB Stuttgart jumps out of the relegation zone: Führich stands out in Mainz

Clear victory in Mainz

VfB Stuttgart has taken a big step towards staying up in the Bundesliga. The Swabians won 4-1 (1-1) at FSV Mainz 05 on Sunday and jumped to 15th place with 32 points. Chris Führich, who came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute, is man of the game with three goals involved.

Marcus Ingvartsen gave Mainz the lead (23rd minute), but Wataru Endo (41′), Serhou Guirassy (64′), Führich (78′) and Tanguy Coulibaly (90’+1′) turned the game around for VfB. Führich played the second and fourth VfB goal.

Compared to VfL Bochum in 16th place with the same number of points, Stuttgart have a significantly better goal difference. On the last day of the game, VfB welcomes TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Mainz is ninth in the table with 45 points and no longer has a chance of qualifying for the European Cup.
