VfB Stuttgart is targeting a new striker

It is unclear whether Serhou Guirassy and Deniz Undav will still play for VfB Stuttgart next season. The Swabians are now apparently setting their sights on a possible replacement.

As the portal “Fanatik.ro” has learned, the Romanian Denis Drăguş is on the list at VfB Stuttgart. Bundesliga rivals TSG Hoffenheim and English second division club FC Watford are also said to be interested in the center forward.

Drăguş is on loan from Standard Liège to Turkish club Gaziantep FK until the end of the season.

According to the report, the Turks are so convinced of the 24-year-old that they have approached the Belgians with a purchase offer. Gaziantep wanted to pay two million euros to release Drăguş from his employment contract, which runs until 2025.

But Liège rejected the offer. The club is therefore expecting significantly more lucrative offers from other interested parties, including VfB Stuttgart.

Drăguş has scored seven goals in 16 Süper Lig games so far. There is also an assist. The seven-time Romanian national player scored eleven goals in 60 duels for Standard Liège.

VfB Stuttgart: Guirassy and Undav gone by summer at the latest?

With Guirassy and Undav, VfB Stuttgart is threatened with losing two strikers by the summer at the latest.

The Guinean could even leave the Swabians in winter. Although the much-quoted exit clause of 17.5 million euros has already expired, according to “kicker” it is still possible to say goodbye by the end of the transfer phase on February 1st.

However, if Guirassy stays, the same change would probably happen in the summer.

Undav is on loan from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion to VfB Stuttgart for the current season.

According to information from “Bild”, the Swabians can sign the attacker for a base transfer fee of 18 million euros in the summer. If VfB actually makes it into the European Cup, the sum will even rise to 20 million euros. A proud sum for the club, which is still financially struggling.
