The last matchday of the Champions League was tough again. Five German teams were deployed in the XXL conference. The feelings were mixed.
Dramatic Wednesday evening in the Champions League: For the first time, 18 games ran parallel on the last match day of the premier class. The 36 European top teams fought almost everywhere. At least one team was able to cheer out of Germany.
With a 2-0 win against Sparta Prague, Bayer Leverkusen has reached sixth place in the table and thus made the direct entry into the round of 16. Dortmund and Bavaria won 3: 1 in their final games, but thus missed a little miracle. Both teams had hoped for the direct qualification for the round of the last 16 in advance. But the competition did not play along. However, BVB (tenth place) and Munich (eleventh place) booked the ticket for intermediate rounds.
The evening for VfB Stuttgart was bitter. The progress would have been possible for the Swabians. But Paris Saint-Germain made a line through the Stuttgart account, won 4-1. Leipzig lost 0-1 in Graz, but had already left before the last match day.
Conclusion – What a wild evening in the Champions League. 18 games at the same time, goals full. Bayer Leverkusen stands directly in the round of 16 after the victory against Prague. Dortmund and Bayern have to take the detour across the intermediate round. VfB Stuttgart is out. The Swabians had no chance against Paris. Leipzig had no way of moving into the intermediate round before.

BVB – Donetsk – 3: 1 (90th minute): End in Dortmund. BVB wins 3: 1, as well as Bayern against Bratislava. End in Leverkusen. Bayer won 2-0 against Sparta and is therefore among the best eight teams in the royal class league.
Villa – Celtic – 4: 2 (90th minute): The lid is final for Dortmund and Bayern. Because Aston Villa makes it 4-2 against Celtic. Rogers with the triple pack. It is clear that the Munich and BVB are in the intermediate round.
