The French second-hand fashion retailer Vestiaire Collective has opened its own authentication and logistics center for the British market. With the system, the company is responding to increasing demand in Great Britain, Vestiaire Collective said on Wednesday. The new location would also avoid “Brexit-related barriers”, shorten processing and delivery times for British customers and reduce the company’s carbon footprint, according to a press release. Before opening the new office, Vestiaire Collective had sent sent items to France for authentication.

The facility in Great Britain creates 50 jobs and is designed to process up to 1,000 articles a day, the company said. With it, Vestiaire Collective now has four regional authentication centers. Previously there were already corresponding facilities in France, the USA and Hong Kong. “Localized authentication” will ensure faster logistics and better customer service, explained the second-hand specialist.
